Providing Financial Assistance to Santa Fe Artists for Twenty-One Years

Mission: Santa Fe Artists’ Medical Fund provides financial support to professional artists living and working in Santa Fe County that have medical needs but cannot afford treatment or prescriptions.

History

The Santa Fe Artists’ Medical Fund was founded in 1996 by artist Armond Lara and a group of artists and other individuals concerned about the problems faced by professional artists who have no options for group insurance coverage. Since its inception, the Santa Fe Artists Medical Fund has assisted many artists during times of medical needs through grants administered by the Santa Fe Community Foundation to provide for those artists who cannot afford necessary treatment.

Despite changes to health care laws our fund remains pertinent to the Santa Fe community by helping artists meet their health care needs.
